Think You Had a Bad Customer Service Experience? Meet Dave.

Story:

Customer, “Dave,” had a very interesting experience with the customer service of the PR group (Ocean Marketing). Dave pre-ordered two of the new Avenger Controllers from the company Ocean’s Marketing; this group is the PR for the company who invented the aforementioned device (N-Control).

Early December, Dave was expecting to have his pre-ordered controllers to have already arrived as promised. To be clear, Dave pre-ordered two months before the devices actually came out. Confused, he called the PR of N-Control (Ocean Marketing) expecting to get a clearer date of when he can get the controllers; not realizing that he was about to encounter the rude, boastful, jackass-ery of the now infamous Paul Christoforo.

Dave shot an email to Paul, customer service for OM, and today’s internet douche bag. He asked when can he expect the controllers since it didn’t come at the date expected. Being understanding, he wasn’t aggressive or ostentatious about not receiving his controller. Paul replied with, “December 17.” Confused with the reply, he sent him another e-mail for clarification. The first couple e-mails were pretty tame and civil.

Paul (customer jackass service), was eventually fed up with the back and forth of e-mails with Dave and started his pretentious tirade. The douche-bag is released from his douche cell.

When Dave made the proposition to cancel his order and just re-order it again to get a discount (people who ordered at the time had $10 off the product), Paul snapped and threatened him that if he did that, he wouldn’t be able to order the product at all.

Dave, outraged at this point, threatened to spill the story to game journalists and blogs about his horrible customer service from Ocean Marketing. Paul shrugged this off and even boasted of how he knew people from notable companies such as IGN, Kotaku, and G4; explicitly telling him that no one would listen to his pathetic sob story. One man interested in the story was Penny Arcade (PAX) head, Mike Krahulik, better known as Gabe by the readers of the blog. He sent an e-mail to Dave about the situation “Holy shit, this is unbelievable. Dave, if this guy has a booth on PAX east we will cancel it.” Dave, being the nice guy that he is, stated that he didn’t want them to be out of a booth on his expense.

The jackass then began to harass Mike through e-mail when he was confronted, and then boasted about how his “connections” to other gaming companies. Unbeknownst to him that Mike was the head of PAX and Penny Arcade. Even listing him (Mike) as one of his connections into PAX. (Fun Fact: All of the aforementioned “connections” denied their affiliations with Ocean Marketing and even threatened legal actions). Mike briefly corrected him and mentioned that “…PAX is my show.” Skeptic of this, Paul shrugged off the claim and continued to state how he and the presenter of PAX (Mike) were buddies.

Paul eventually realized that Mike WAS the head of PAX and immediately went to brown-nose mode. After Mike told him that he (Paul) was going to be on Penny Arcade for the horrendous customer service; Paul reverted back to harassing the man.

And now were here. The e-mail trade offs’ a short read, it’s on the front page of the Penny Arcade website. Other blogs have also covered this, naming a few: 1UP, IGN, Kotaku, and Penny Arcade.

Opinions:

No one can argue against the fact that Paul Christoforo is a complete jackass and needs to be fired. To everyone reading, please don’t let this one douche ruin your feelings for the whole company. He’s one guy, hopefully you all don’t change your mind of buying the Avenger Controller. It’s seriously an amazing product for people with disabilities and problems. As of right now, I don’t know if Christofo-jackass got fired; I’m really counting on it. If you have time, check out the review of the Avenger Controller on IGN. They have a great blog on the review of the product.

As for Mike of Penny Arcade, he’s the real hero of the day. He’s like the game blogger badass; most likely equivalents a blogger Chuck Norris. [Insert generic Chuck Norris joke]. I just love that fact that he took the time to read the e-mails and exposed this douchery that is Douche-toforo. It seems like Dave and the others who pre-ordered didn’t get their orders by Christmas, it’s a shame; at least he got that stupid jackass possible fired (or at least demoted). Oh my god, reading the e-mails really got me riled up.

Also, while your reading this; welcome to Agility Up. We’re not usually this ranty, but this is a serious issue.

I hope you come back for more:D
